Analysis of the technology for sunflower production in the Chirpan region and monitoring the impact of precipitation on productivity

Author(s): Galia Hristova

The study was conducted on an experimental plot in the Chirpan region of Central Bulgaria. The technology of sunflower production during three agricultura years has been monitored: 2015-2016 (first agricultural year - FAY); 2017-2018 (second agricultural year – SAY); 2019-2020 (third agricultural year – ТAY). The precipitations that have a significant impact on the growth and development of the plants have been studied, and for the years studied they are respectively:2015 – 770 l/m2; 2016 - 206 l/m2; 2017 – 561 l/m2; 2018 – 721 l/m2; 2019 – 523 l/m2; 2020 – 455 l/m2. It was found that the technological operations carried out during the three agricultural years are similar, as the main tillage of the soil (plowing) is at a depth of 30-32 cm, the first cultivation of 12-16 cm, the second cultivation of 10-14 cm. The sowing was done as follows: 7000 pcs / da seeds at a row spacing of 70 cm, and inside the row 30 cm. The yields from the obtained sunflower production are: First agricultural year (FAY) - 230 kg/da; Second agricultural year (SAY) - 332 kg/da; Third agricultural year (TAY) - 210 kg/da.
